3 months of Purple: let's take stock 💜

Three months. That's the milestone we were waiting for, a moment to step back, look at what's happened, and tell you honestly: is Purple working?

The short answer: yes. But let us give you the real numbers.

The stats that made us smile

We're not going to hit you with a boring report. Just the numbers that, when we saw them, made us want to celebrate.

131,922 messages sent between you.

We looked at each other. That's a lot. That's actually huge for a 3-month-old app. It means you're talking to each other, connections are forming, and Purple isn't just an app people download and forget.

More than 10,000 girls signed up in Belgium and France.

We knew there was a real need out there, and seeing that number, that quickly, confirms everything we believed. Making friends as an adult is hard. And tens of thousands of you already know it.

More than 10,000 matches between you.

This one is our favourite stat. Because behind every match, there are two girls who said "yes, I'm interested in this person." And behind those matches, there are already hundreds of real friendships that have started. Girls who are now meeting up, talking daily, who went from "we matched on Purple" to "my new friend."

That's exactly why we built Purple.

67,176 diamonds earned in the app.

You're completing quests, spinning the daily wheel, and it's great to see.

600 voice messages, and the feature has only been live for 3 weeks.

We knew voice messages would be popular. We didn't expect them to take off this fast.

Ranked #46 on the Belgian App Store in the Social Networking category.

Competing against hundreds of apps. In 3 months. We're not going to pretend that doesn't make us proud.

A word on subscriptions

A few of you mentioned that Purple is a paid app. We want to be crystal clear: Purple is 100% free.

You can sign up, create your profile, match, chat, make friends, without spending a single cent.

What we tried to build is a balance. On one side, diamonds you can earn for free every day: in-app quests, the daily fortune wheel, small challenges… On the other, the option to buy diamonds or get a subscription if you want to move faster or unlock more features.

Why this system? Because Purple is a young Belgian startup. And a startup needs to generate revenue to survive. Servers cost money. Advertising costs money. The team, development, maintenance, all of it has a real cost. When you buy diamonds or a subscription, you're improving your own experience in the app and you're concretely supporting a Belgian company trying to build something genuinely useful for you.

We never wanted Purple to be reserved for those who pay. And that won't change.

We're ready for one million girls

Our infrastructure is built to handle one million users. We planned for it from the start, because we didn't want to end up scrambling to manage growth in a panic.

10,000 girls today is a beginning. A great beginning. But we're aiming much higher, and the foundations are already in place for it.

What's coming next

We can't say everything. Not yet.

But right now we're working on a new feature we haven't seen in any app like this before. The idea: letting you plan outings between girls, directly from Purple.

Matching and chatting is great. But actually meeting up in real life is even better. We're building something to make that leap from virtual to real feel easy, fun, and safe.

We'll share more very soon. But it's going to be big.

Thank you 💜

Thank you to everyone who's been here from the beginning. Thank you to those who invited their friends. Thank you to those who send us feedback, report bugs, take the time to tell us what they love, or what they'd like to see change.

Purple is as much yours as it is ours.

See you in 3 months for the next update 💜

Jennifer.
